nother amazing day serving the community!! Thank you to all the volunteers who came out to bag food, distribute groceries, play with kids, run the children's program, mow lawns, make coffee & hot chocolate, pray for the people we serve & Jesus to those who may not know Him any other way than what we show them!
At Sigma Acres:
We got another translator, George. He lives in the community and is fluent in Spanish & English. He offered to help us with interpretation needs every NPI! Please pray that George, his sister Norma and their father James come to know God's love in a personal way.
We increased the number of people we serve at this site by 20% this saturday...we are thankful that we can help in hard times but all of us need to continue to pray that the people will find jobs, get pay increases & be able to provide for their families.
At 4th Streeet:
We met the new "neighbors"...4 apartments full of them. We are excited because this only opens the door for the team to share the love of God with more people in a real way!
Lindzee got invited to a baby shower for one of the families we serve...this is awesome because it is a sign of the close relationships that are being made and with relationship comes influence. A positive influence can make all the difference in these neighborhoods!
At Liberty Street:
SO many kiddos were out (with their parents too!) taking part in the childrens ministry! Please pray for the kids in this neighborhood. It is a violent place with gang presence and little hope. However, we see the light in the kids' faces and it's effecting the parents too! Many of the moms come out and stay the whole time we are there now since we started the Bible Study!
Isabel, the woman who offered her house for the next Bible study is moving...and she wants us to do a Bible study at her home across town!! WOW...we are thrilled that she is willing and eager to keep up with it even though the study wont be easily accessable! Pray that the multiplication of the study into other days will be according to God's will!
We would love to have you join us to see first hand what's happening in your community!!
