Nehemiah Project was amazing this Saturday!! So many things happened I hop eI don’t forget any one of them (but if I do please feel free to add=)
At Sigma Acres we were able to give a family who is having a very very hard time financially diapers and shoes for all the kids!
At 4th Street:
Jeremy met a high ranking official in the Norteno gang about 2 years ago and they had a brief discussion about why we were there handing out food and spending time in such a rough area of town. That day the gang member told Jeremy not to leave the neighborhood and not to give up on the people there. A very interesting conversation that has stuck with us when we are feeling like we would like to see more fruit from our labor there. Saturay this man, Raul showed up again…he was clean and out of the gang! After talking with Jeremy he moved his family away, got clean and accepted Christ=) Now, he has moved back to the neighborhood to help other peope just like him! He old Jeremy saturday, “You don’t understand what you’re doing here. You guys are hte only clean thing that comes into this neighborhood.” Wow…it just proves that we are only seed planters and God is the One who change the hearts of men!
At Liberty Street:
We started havung birthday parties on the first saturday of every month after finding out that most of the kids dont get to celebrate their birthdays due to their family lack of funds. Perla, turns 8 today so we celebrated her birthday yesterday with homemade cupcakes & we gave her a new Barbi. When she opened her gift she said, “I’ve never had a Barbi before!” To see Gods love showered on that little girl was truly precious!
The womens Bible study wsa this saturday also…we were busy busy! There were 8 woman and 6 of them were new! I spoke about receiving Gods love nad how there isnt anything you can do to earn it: it’s a gift. The women were very intent in their listening and one even spoke up to ask questions. Most of these woman are Catholic so we pray that God will reveal His true plan of salvation to them through the blood of Jesus. After the study time we fellowship with the women and Ruth, my super fabulous interpreter and friend!, found out one of the women is Jehovas Witness. She told Ruth she felt something iin her, like connected during the study!! Praise God…He is the remover of strongholds!!!!
What a great day! Please pray with us: that Raul and his wife will be strengthened in the Lord, our friend whos Jehovas Witness would continue to come and know the One true God, that the childrfen in these areas would be supernaturally protected from the elements in which they live & that we would continue in the will of God in al lthings concerning the Nehemiah Project.
Please consider joining us in two weeks…Gos desires to move through you!
